Overview

World Premiere marks an exciting new chapter in the creative journey of choreographer Patricia Delgado, whose artistry has flourished from her beginnings as a celebrated principal dancer to her emergence as a distinctive choreographic voice. Created for Miami City Ballet, this new work reflects Delgado's deep connection to music, movement, and the community that helped shape her career.

Known for her exceptional musicality and expressive sensitivity as a performer, Delgado brings those same qualities to her choreography, crafting movement that is both emotionally resonant and visually compelling. Drawing on her rich artistic experiences, she creates a ballet that celebrates the power of dance to communicate beyond words, revealing moments of intimacy, connection, and transformation.

Returning to Miami as a choreographer carries special significance for Delgado, whose artistic roots are deeply intertwined with the city and the company. This world premiere offers audiences an opportunity to experience a fresh creative perspective while honoring the enduring relationship between artist and home.

Combining contemporary insight with classical refinement, the ballet showcases Miami City Ballet's versatility and commitment to nurturing new artistic voices. As Delgado continues to expand her choreographic career, this premiere stands as a testament to her evolving vision and her ability to create work that speaks with both elegance and authenticity.
