Christof Fischesser, born in Wiesbaden, studied at the Musikhochschule in Frankfurt and subsequently became an ensemble member of the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe. In 2004 he moved to the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, from 2012 to 2015 he was a member of the ensemble at the Zurich Opera House.
He is regularly u.a. at the opera houses in Vienna, London, Paris, Lyon and Stockholm as well as at the Salzburg Festival. His repertoire includes roles such as King Marke (Tristan and Isolde), Gurnemanz (Parsifal), Henry the Vogler (Lohengrin), Veit Pogner (The Mastersingers of Nuremberg), Sarastro (The Magic Flute), Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Escamillo ( Carmen), Rocco (Fidelio), Banquo (Macbeth), Kaspar (Der Freischütz) and Mephisto (Faust).
