"Franui" is the Name of a specific pasture in the small, 1402 meters above the sea, the East Tyrolean village Innervillgraten, in which the members of the music Banda of the same Name, are mostly grown up. Since 1993, the musicians have played in almost unchanged composition and are present at many Festivals and concert organizers (among others). Vienna Konzerthaus, Burgtheater in Vienna, Salzburg Festival, Bregenz Festival, Ruhrtriennale, Ludwigsburg Palace Festival, Cologne Philharmonic, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Philharmonie de Paris, Holland Festival, Klarafestival in Brussels). Franui is known for his interpretations of the songs of Schubert, Schumann, Brahms and Mahler, where the boundaries between Improvisation, Arrangement and (Re)blur composition. The Ensemble sees itself as a"substation between classical music, folk music, Jazz and contemporary chamber music". At their concerts, and music theatre productions team up frequently with such artists as the baritone Florian Boesch, the puppeteer, art Pfeifer, and Director Nikolaus Habjan, the writer Hans Magnus Enzensberger, the actors Sven-Eric Bechtolf, Peter Simonischek and André Wilms or mask theatre company Familie Flöz. The CDs of Franui appear at the label col legno and have been awarded several awards. In 2018, the anniversary album "Ständchen der Things"received the annual prize of the German record critics.
